GROWING WEALTH MANAGEMENT FIRM ADDS TOP TALENT TO ITS LEADERSHIP TEAM
Family-Owned Sentinus Taps Phil Johnson, Industry Veteran and Former President of Tom Ricketts’ Incapital, as New CEO

OAK BROOK, IL – June 21, 2016 – Sentinus, the high-touch boutique financial firm, has named Phil Johnson, the former President, CFO and COO of Incapital LLC — a Chicago based investment banking and securities brokerage firm founded by Chicago Cubs chairman, Tom Ricketts — as its new CEO. Just six months after relocating its corporate headquarters to Oak Brook to accommodate an ever-expanding portfolio of high net worth clients in Chicago, the Midwest and across the United States, Sentinus announced that its current CEO, Scott Reynolds, will become Executive Chairman and plans to shift his focus to a mentor and advisory role within the company while continuing to build strong relationships with generational clients.

“My father founded this company with a commitment to serve the client first, last and always,” said Scott Reynolds, Partner and Executive Chairman of Sentinus. “After having led Sentinus for 40 years, most recently in a strictly executive capacity, I am now ready to shift my energies to focusing on my true passion: engaging with our clients and helping them meet their short-term and long-term financial goals. We’re incredibly privileged to welcome a leader of Phil Johnson’s caliber as CEO during this exciting growth period in our company’s 70-year history. We’re confident that his talent and expertise will help continue to strengthen our business operations and drive our growing team.”

With more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Johnson brings a strong reputation for creating and executing strategic plans that allow businesses to grow in a meaningful way. Prior to joining Sentinus, Johnson was a key executive at Incapital, a leading underwriter and distributor of investment solutions, during a period of immense growth. In his 15-year tenure with the company, Johnson led various disciplines, including finance, operations and technology, investment banking, trading and sales. He was also active in Incapital’s merger and acquisition strategy, which involved analysis and integration, and was instrumental in taking the company from 11 employees to more than 190 during his tenure.

“It is an honor to join such a well-respected firm rooted in providing personal service and clarity to family, individual and business clients,” said Johnson. “For the past 70 years, Sentinus has proven to be a trusted and reliable financial partner. I’m thrilled to help expand that reputation to a wider market in the coming months and years ahead.”

Johnson holds a B.S. in Accounting from Viterbo University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a CPA (inactive), and holds many securities industry licenses. Johnson is also a member of the Executive Club of Chicago. Johnson and his wife, Joanne, have two sons and a daughter and reside in Naperville.

About Sentinus

Founded in 1946 by WWII veteran Richard A. Reynolds, Reynolds Financial Group was a responsible and progressive wealth management firm with a focus on customer service. The company began offering fee-based comprehensive financial planning coupled with risk-based asset allocations in 1978, which put them ahead of the curve in helping their clients build unique and diverse investment plans to meet their financial goals. In 2012, the company moved to independence and rebranded with the Sentinus name, which provided an opportunity for client growth and a more streamlined, effective client experience with greater hands-on management and service.
