Gregory Johnson

Greg has 30+ years of experience working with individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses to help identify and reach their long-term goals. His problem-solving skills have helped clients and companies assess their strengths & weaknesses and determine the strategic opportunities to create long term value. He is a Registered Investment Advisor and a licensed Investment Banking Representative.

Greg was the founder of Coldwater Financial, LLC, a private investment and advisory firm servicing small & middle-market companies. Prior to Coldwater, Greg was an Investment Banker for Bear, Stearns & Co. and began his corporate finance career at Koch Industries, the largest privately-owned company in the U.S., where he analyzed and advised on M&A transactions, joint venture opportunities, and domestic and international opportunities. He started his career at Northern Trust Company in their corporate trust department analyzing corporate pension plans.

Greg is a graduate of Creighton University and received an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, with a concentration in finance and accounting. Greg has been active in his community & his alma mater having served as the President of the Clarendon Hills Park District, the Creighton University Alumni Board and Board of Trustees.

He has been active in youth sports coaching and having served as a board member of the Hinsdale Central Hockey Club, Chicago Hawks youth hockey club and the Hinsdale Central Girls Lacrosse Club. He currently coaches the Hinsdale Central Girls JV lacrosse team. Greg is married with 3 children and enjoys live music, playing golf, and rooting for the Cubs, Blackhawks, Creighton Bluejays & Nebraska Cornhuskers.
